oh my lanta, i love the subaru forester commercial that is the hockey mom with the three little boys.. mostly cause i know that'll probably be me in 10 years if i have boys!! :] i love my hockey man and i can't wait to start a family with him.

survival of the fittest...
of course there are no pictures of my husband and myself one of the 50 billion lappy tops at my parentals house.. oh well, this one will suffice.
anyways. aust and i have survived the one month breach!! we celebrated with some baptisms for the dead in the morning, some delish french toast at mum and dad's, and some wedding cake at our house before the big baby had to be put down for his napper. though we try each other's patience out like no one else, we continue to fall deeper and deeper in love. this kid is my life, he's been such a rock for me since i met him and i love him for it. austin isn't half bad himself.. ;] haha, just kidding, though i love my daddy (and the rest of you minions i call my family).
one month down, two lifetimes and beyond to go.

for those who know...
the love of my life, austin james strong, is getting baptized on june 25, 2011.
as thrilled and joyous as i am to witness the change that has happened to my baby boy in these amazing six months i've known him, i want everyone to know.... austin has made this decision himself. yes, i planted the seed. but he watered it and he has made it grow into the desire and need to be baptized so to marry me in the temple, that we can have our family with us forever and for the eternities. and the truth be told, i blame mike the pepsi vendor at smith's for this. :] thank you mike the pepsi guy, you've completed the perfect man for me.
austin, i love you more and more with each passing day, and i hope you know that i would have married you no matter what religion you were and i will stand by your side in every decision we make together as a family. i sink yo'r da greatest.
no matter what religion you base your life on, love is at the core. and if people live their religion to exactness, love is all we need. i love my Heavenly Father and my brother, Jesus Christ. i love my aussy bear. i love my family. i love my in-laws. i love. and in the end, thats all that really matters.

to whom it may concern:
now i know most of you feel like giving me this look and kicking me in the kneecap..
but never fear. brooklyn is here. times have been tough, but i'm so grateful to my loving koala bear, my always supportive family, and my new in laws. ya'll have been so supportive.. (to my face... ;] tee hee) and i know i haven't shown my gratitude as well as i should be.. i'll try to not be such a brat and say thank you more than i have. i love you all, and remember, only 18 more days!! crazy crazy, but soon i'll be the mrs. vanessa redd strong. i'm so much more excited than i ever thought i could be. austin, i love you more and more each day and i can't believe how you've swept me so completely off my feet.

wedding clothing.
okay people. there have been MANY MANY MANY miscommunications about what you minions are going to wear the the wedding ceremony/pool party. here is a very detailed list of what is acceptable. :]
women:
white or black, or both shirt. it can be a regular old tee shirt (though no holes please... a little nicer than that!!) or a very fancy shmacy get up. you can accent with red or silver. example: a red cami under a v neck shirt. eh? they HAVE to be at least cap sleeves (and have to have BOTH sleeves ;] tee hee) and no cleavage.. for pants, dark jeans. they can be black, indigo, navy, anything. the only thing i ask for the jeans, please no holes. it is a wedding, a very casual one, yes, but its my wedding regardless.
men:
white or black, or both shirt. it can be a regular old tee shirt or a nice button up. i'm not picky about that, just the coloring. you can also accent with red or silver, just please no ties. and for the pants, dark jeans. they can be black, indigo, navy, anything. but they have to be jeans, not dress slacks. and please, no holes.
mothers/grandmothers/great-grandmothers:
a black dress, or a black skirt with white or black top. you can accent with red or silver. we are having you in dresses/skirts to set you apart from everyone else since we're not doing corsages. please no tank tops/spaghetti straps. and please please please no cleavage!! ;]
fathers/grandfathers/great-grandfathers:
black slacks/dress pants with a white button up. if you wish to wear short sleeves, please go ahead, it is a late spring wedding after all! we will provide you with matching ties so people know that you are the fathers since we're not doing boutineers (or whatever).
sisters/sister in laws:
please refer to women. we are making red felt flowers for you to wear in your hair or as a pin. that is what will set you apart from everyone else.
brothers/brother in laws:
please refer to men. we're not making you wear anything special.. i'm sorry. :[ if you want a red felt flower. let me know and i'll custom make you one. ;]
flower girls/train helpers:
black dresses, or black skirts with black or white tops. you can accent with red or silver. please no strapless/spaghetti straps and please no low cut! even though they are little girls, we dont want to embarrass them in front of everyone if something was to happen....
ring bearers:
black slacks/dress pants and a white button up. thats all you gotta wear little guys!!
groomsman:
nelson. what are you doing looking at my blog!! ;] haha, black slacks/dress pants with a black button up shirt. the shirt is what is setting you apart from the old men. we are providing you a tie.
maid of honor:
lulu. we gotcha covered. just dont look better than me. it is my wedding after all.
swim party:
GO BANANAS!! i dont care what you wear, cause quite honestly, i've already ask enough of you guys!! please, enjoy yourselves and dont forget your swimming suit if you want to swim!! i love you, and if you have any questions. you probably have my number, if not, you probably have austin's so just ask him for mine.
caution:

mama mia..
here i go again..
on thursday, may 12, aust and i finally took our engagements pictures and as i took off to utah lake for my own little photo shoot, austin asked dad for my hand (better late then never, right?). as i look back over the past few weeks, i keep picturing the moment in 27 dresses when "malcom aka kevin" has his entry about jane being the perfect bridesmaid and her little sister is the "bridezilla" and the sister reads about it and is freaking out, portraying a bridezilla to the tee.. and all i can see is myself. i've been such a bridezilla, its ridiculous! so everyone who has had to deal with me in planning this shindig, im sorry. and to everyone who has luckily escaped the claws of death (mimi and olivia), stay far away!! or else you might fall victim to this.

[forever] STRONG
as the wedding plans start the full swing, the more and more i wish to elope!! as austin and i delve into what we want for our wedding, the harder i fall for him. as im showing him today bouquet ideas, veil ideas, cake ideas.. he askes me to show him what kind of wedding i would want in an idealistic world.. and i realized, im going to have the wedding i want in an idealistic world and reality. i have the man of my dreams, and ive realized thats all that matters. it doesn't matter if i have a huge fancy smancy wedding, or if i elope to the best little chapel in vegas. it doesn't matter if i wear a 3,000 dollar dress, or borrow my sisters beautiful dress, or if i wear sweats and ratty tee shirt. if i have the perfect bouquet, the perfect cake, the perfect dinner, nothing. all that matters is the man at the end of the isle and how he treats me.

happy new years!!
ringing in the new year was a blast, i started out at work (getting paid holiday pay which equals a time and a half), cheered the grizzlies win one to nada against the other team, and watched the ball drop at Austin's mama's house with EVERYONE. :] it was a great beginning to a hopefully great year.
